Melksham Town Crowned Champions

 

Melksham Town clinched the Western League title with a 2-1 win at Willand Rovers, whilst the only other contenders Buckland Athletic lost 1-0 at home to Slimbridge.

 

Slimbridge clinched third place on Bank Holiday Monday with a 5-0 win at Willand Rovers, and must now wait to see if a third place will see them promoted by the FA. 

 


 

Welton Rovers pip Cribbs for second spot

in Division One

 

Welton Rovers won 3-1 at Cheddar to finish runners up, whilst Barnstaple Town players settled for the bar when Devizes team coach broke down.

 


 

FA turn down St Austell promotion

to the Western League

 

South West Peninsula champions St.Austell who would have secured a place in the Premier Division of the Western League, have had their promotion refused by the F.A. after a ground inspection.

 

 


 

 

Could Salisbury be in Western Leaguefor 2015-16

 

The new club has applied to the Football Association to be included within the National pyramid for next season.

TV football pundit Steve Claridge is one of the new Directors and is the Manager.

 

The FA have advised the club that they will be informed around Mid May of the League that they will participate in for 2015-16. 

 

Bideford is another club facing a winding up order as the HM Revenue and Customs take a closer look at football clubs
